When I was 21 I moved from my hometown of Boston to New York. I worked in a bookstore while taking night classes in design and did freelance window display. I got my bachelors degree in Interior Design and worked for an architect designing modernist homes and shops. I then took a position as a decorating editor at Martha Stewart Living magazine. It was there that I learned the ins and outs of the editorial and photo shoot worlds, and honed my skills at creating comfortable and beautiful living spaces.
Now freelance, I work on a wide assortment of home and interior styling projects. My days are ever-changing - these assignments take me to many interesting places and expose me to a variety of situations and challenges that inform and inspire. I enjoy adding the final touches that bring a home to life; figuring out what a room needs to finish its story. After more than 20 years I am still driven by an interest in learning and the enjoyment of each new experience.
I currently split my time between New York City’s East Village and the countryside of Litchfield County, Connecticut where I am endlessly renovating and decorating a 300 year old house.
